As the Lead Copywriter, Creative for the FIFA World Cup 26™ Official Hospitality program, you will craft compelling and impactful narratives that capture the excitement and prestige of this global event. You will lead the development of all written content, ensuring consistency and alignment with the program’s brand voice and marketing objectives. This role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and an in-depth understanding of the sports and hospitality industries.

What You'll Do


    Develop and oversee the execution of high-quality, engaging copy for various marketing channels including digital, print, social media, and experiential campaigns.

    Lead the creation of storytelling strategies that enhance the brand and drive consumer engagement.

    Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize and execute integrated marketing campaigns.

    Ensure all copy aligns with brand guidelines and maintains a consistent tone and style.

    Edit and proofread copy for accuracy, clarity, and impact.

    Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.

    Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, design, sales, and product to ensure cohesive messaging.

    Conduct research to stay updated on industry trends and consumer insights to inform content strategies.

    Mentor and guide junior copywriter(s), providing feedback and fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.

    Analyze the performance of content and campaigns, using insights to optimize future efforts.

Recommended Skills

    7+ years of experience in copywriting, preferably in the sports, entertainment, or hospitality industries.

    Experience working on large-scale events or major global brands.

    Passion for soccer and a deep understanding of the FIFA World Cup’s significance.

    Proven track record of developing creative and compelling copy across multiple channels.

    Strong portfolio showcasing a range of writing styles and successful campaigns.

    Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.

    Ability to think strategically and align copy with business objectives and brand voice.

    Experience with video scriptwriting and production.

    Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

    Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    Proficiency in using content management systems and other digital marketing tools.

    Deep understanding of consumer behavior and how to craft messages that resonate with diverse audiences, including both B2C (“fan”) and B2B (“corporate”) audiences.

    Experience working with traditional and digital marketing teams to iterate on copy concepts based on data-driven performance insights.

    Familiarity with international markets and the ability to tailor messaging to different cultural contexts.

    Bilingual or multilingual proficiency (especially French and/or Spanish).

    Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience optimizing content for search engines.

    Ability to use data and analytics to inform and improve content strategies.
